ServiceM8 iPhone Deep Link for Opening a Specific Job

Hi, is there a supported iPhone app link to open a specific job by UUID?

Web works:
https://go.servicem8.com/openjob/{uuid}

This opens the app but not the job:
https://go.servicem8.com/app/openjob/{uuid}

What URL format should we use?

hii , could you solve this issue?

No, I didn’t find anything. I hope someone from servicem8 will respond.

Hi Nikita,

For opening a specific job by UUID, the URL we currently publish is:
https://go.servicem8.com/openjob/{uuid}

When it’s opened in a browser where the user is already logged in to ServiceM8, it’ll take them straight to that job’s details page.

For iOS Universal Links, the URL we currently document for returning to the ServiceM8 app is:
https://go.servicem8.com/app/launch

If you’re generating links inside ServiceM8 content (notes, tasks, emails, Activity Feed), you can also link to a job by typing # followed by the Job Number, and tapping it will open the relevant Job Card.

Reply here with where you’re launching the link from (e.g. Safari, another app, SMS) and we can sanity-check the best documented option.

Thanks,
Cody

Thanks Cody,

I’m launching the link from iMessage or WhatsApp.

I just need to share a job link with my technician, so when he taps it on iPhone/Android, it opens the specific job directly in the ServiceM8 app instead of the mobile web browser.

Is there a supported URL format for that?

Thanks,
Nikita

Hi Cody,

Is there any chance for it to open the app to the uuid / job number? same as desktop but for the app? Would be a big help if possible?

For iOS Universal Links, the URL we currently document for returning to the ServiceM8 app is:
https://go.servicem8.com/app/launch

Hi simply_5, nikita_sh,

The link we currently document for jumping back into the ServiceM8 iOS app is a general “launch” universal link: https://go.servicem8.com/app/launch.

For opening a specific job by UUID, the documented URL format is for web browsers: https://go.servicem8.com/openjob/{uuid} (it’ll open the job details page when the user is already logged in via their browser).

If the goal is linking to a job from within ServiceM8 (notes/tasks/emails/activity), you can link by job number by typing # followed by the job number, and tapping it opens the relevant Job Card.

If you specifically need a supported iPhone deep link that opens a specific job by UUID, email support@servicem8.com and we’ll confirm the best supported approach for your workflow.

Thanks,
Cody

Hi Nikita,

These are the link formats we currently document:

If you’re creating links inside ServiceM8 itself, you can also reference a job by typing # followed by the Job Number, which opens the linked Job Card.

If opening a specific job directly in the iOS app by UUID is what you need, send that through as a feature request to support@servicem8.com.

Thanks,
Cody

Hi Nikita,

At the moment, the only job-by-UUID link we publish is the web URL format https://go.servicem8.com/openjob/{uuid}, which is designed to open the job in a browser (and will go straight to the job details when the user is already logged in).

For iOS, the Universal Link we currently document is https://go.servicem8.com/app/launch, which is just for returning to the ServiceM8 app (it’s not documented as a job-opening link that takes a UUID).

If you’re sharing something within ServiceM8 (Note/Task/Email/Activity Feed), you can link to a job by typing # plus the Job Number, and tapping it opens the relevant Job Card in the app.

That should clear up what’s currently supported.

Thanks,
Cody

Hi Cody,

Thanks for answer.

What I need is a direct app link that I can send to technicians via iMessage or WhatsApp, so they can tap it and it open the app and open the specific job inside the ServiceM8 iPhone app.

The current UUID link works only with browser, but for field work an app deep link would be much more convenient.

Is it possible to support a Universal Link/deep link for opening a specific job directly in the app by UUID?

Thanks,
Nikita

Hi Nikita,

At the moment, the only iOS Universal Link we document for launching/returning to the ServiceM8 app is https://go.servicem8.com/app/launch.

For opening a specific job by UUID, the URL format we publish is the browser link https://go.servicem8.com/openjob/{uuid} (it’ll go straight to the job details page when the user is already logged in via their browser).

Based on what we currently document, we don’t have a supported Universal Link/deep link format that opens a specific job directly inside the iOS app by UUID.

If you’re linking from within ServiceM8 content (Note/Task/Email/Activity Feed), you can link to a job by typing # plus the Job Number, and tapping it opens the relevant Job Card.

If a job-specific app link (for iMessage/WhatsApp) would help your workflow, the right way to request it is to email support@servicem8.com with the details of what you’re trying to achieve.

Thanks,
Cody
