Servicem8 Have a native integration with N8N so you can just use the servicem8 node in n8n.
Basic Authentication has been deprecated in the servicem8 api and has been replaced with API key, its much more secure and easier to manage.
API key does integrate with REST API. Which supports multiple authentication protocols.
