# API quote produce skips deposit

Hi,

Quotes produced via `platform_produce_document` never prompt for a deposit on Accept, even with Deposit Required set (e.g. 10%).

The same job quoted in the web app (Billing → Send Quote) obviously show the Pay deposit gate and picks up the default settings.

UI produce uses `PluginJobCard_ProduceTemplatedDocument`;

Producing quotes directly via the API does not arm the gate. Stamping deposit metadata on the quote attachment or setting as a default doesn’t help.

It seems that how the UI generates a quote is different to the API and not all of the settings are exposed.

Noting we can stamp the deposit meta data on the job object but in the job diary it appears without the deposit flag and skips the deposit on accept gate

can `platform_produce_document` (Quote) honour Deposit Required the same as the UI, or is there a supported API way to arm the Accept → Pay deposit gate?
